Railers win on the road at Galesburg

The Lincoln Lady Railers picked up a nice win on the road at
Galesburg Tuesday night by a final score of 48-35.
The Lady Railers led the Silver Streaks 14-10 after the first
quarter as Kaelyn Froebe dropped in eight points.
Lincoln still held an 18-15 advantage at the half, as Grace
Bossingham did all of the scoring for the Lady Railers in the second
quarter.
Lincoln’s scoring picked up in the third quarter as the team
combined to score 17 points and stretched the lead to 35-24.
Lincoln cruised in the fourth quarter by hitting 11 of 13 free
throws to go with the lone field goal by Froebe.
For the game Lincoln was 16 of 19 shooting from the line and
surprisingly did not hit any three point shots. Froebe led the Lady
Railers with 21 points.
On the other side, Galesburg managed to connect for 9 three pointers
while hitting 4 of 5 shots from the free throw line. Just a couple
two point baskets the entire game rounded out the Silver Streaks
scoring. Saige Milroy led the Silver Streaks with 12 points.
Lincoln Head Coach Taylor Richmond was pleased with the team’s win
following the game. "The girls came out and played very hard against
a good Galesburg team,” she said. "I am proud of how the girls
played tonight. They really worked together offensively and
defensively.”

Lincoln will
play at home Thursday night versus Bloomington High School with the
JV scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and the Varsity tip off scheduled
for 7:30 p.m.
