On
December 7, 1941, Logan County native Bill Gossett
remembers exactly where he was when the news came
that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor. He also
recalls the days that followed and the time he
personally spent overseas as the United States
entered into war. On Wednesday afternoon, Gossett
addressed a group in the Atrium at the Lincoln
College Lincoln Center, all there to recognize Pearl
Harbor Day and the soldiers who defended our country
in World War II. Lincoln College President Dr. David
Gerlach also spoke, and throughout the event the
American Legion Color Guard stood at the front of
the crowd in honor of the occasion. LDN will have
additional coverage of this remembrance service in
the Friday edition.
