Hartem jumped out to a 14-10 lead in the first quarter with Brady
Wolpert pouring in eight points.
The Stags held a slim 26-24 at halftime as Brody Baker and Alec
Hayes shared the scoring duties with six points apiece in the second
quarter.
The Stags emerged from the locker room fired up and went on to
outscore the Cougars 15-8 in the third quarter.
The Stags continued to play consistent ball in the fourth quarter
and cruised to the 52-42 victory.
Hayes led the Stags with 14 points and the senior was also 8 for 8
shooting from the free throw line.
Wolpert and Baker each scored 11 points in the win.
Stags Head Coach Jason Garber said after the win, "A great second
half performance contributed to the victory for us. The guys came
out of the locker room fired up in the second half and played with a
lot of intensity, something we have been lacking in the second half
of our previous games. We were able to hold them to only two made
field goals in the third quarter and only one 3-point field goal for
the entire second half.”
The Stags are now 3-3 on the season and will play their next game
at home versus Dee-Mack on Tuesday, December 13. This will be the
Stags first game at home for the 2016-17 season.
