Highlights of Thursday's NHL games

Canucks 5, Lightning 1

Ryan Miller stopped 38 shots to lead the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-1 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning before pulling himself late in the third period.

Miller left the game with 6:02 left in the game during a timeout and headed for the locker room and was replaced by Jacob Markstrom.

Jayson Megna and Jack Skille each scored twice while Erik Gudbranson added a goal and an assist for Vancouver.

Ben Bishop allowed four goals on 20 shots for Tampa Bay before being pulled in favor of Andrei Vasilevskiy after the second period. Jonathan Drouin scored for the Lightning.

Penguins 5, Panthers 1

The Pittsburgh Penguins ruined the home debut of new Florida coach Tom Rowe, defeating the Panthers 5-1.

Rowe moved from general manager to coach one-game into a six-contest road trip after Gerard Gallant was fired.

The Penguins got three first-period goals from Sidney Crosby, Conor Sheary and Tom Kuhnhackl.

Panthers right winger Jaromir Jagr, who won Stanley Cups with the Penguins in 1991 and 1992, scored a goal in the second period. It was career goal No. 755 for the 44-year-old, who is third on the all-time NHL list.

Flyers 6, Oilers 5

Michael Raffl finished off a furious Flyers comeback by scoring the game-winning goal with 1:29 remaining to give Philadelphia victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Flyers trailed 5-3 with less than 15 minutes to play.

Claude Giroux had two goals and one assist, and Mark Streit, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Jakub Voracek also scored for Philadelphia.

Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists, and Connor McDavid and Andrej Sekera added one goal and one assist apiece for the Oilers. Benoit Pouliot and Klefbom also scored for Edmonton, who blew a lead for the fourth consecutive game.

NY Islanders 3, Blues 2

Anders Lee scored two goals, including the game-winner with 7:18 remaining in the third period as the New York Islanders remained red-hot with victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Lee opened the scoring in the first for the Islanders, who also received a goal from captain John Tavares.

Goalie Thomas Greiss made 24 saves.

Avalanche 4, Bruins 2

Nate Mackinnon scored a shorthanded goal to help the Avalanche end a six-game losing streak with victory over the Boston Bruins.

Matt Duchene scored his 10th goal of the season before Mackinnon made it 2-0, the team's second short-handed goal of the season.

John Mitchell made it 3-0 before Boston's David Pastrnak scored twice 80 seconds apart to make it 4-2.

Carl Soderberg capped the scoring for Colorado.

Canadiens 5, Devils 2

Torrey Mitchell scored twice to help the Montreal Canadiens to a win against the New Jersey Devils.

Phillip Danault, Artturi Lehkonen and Max Pacioretty also scored for Montreal, while Adam Henrique and Taylor Hall scored for the Devils.

Carey Price stopped 19 shots for the Canadiens while Cory Schneider made 44 saves for New Jersey.

NY Rangers 2, Jets 1

Kevin Hayes scored with 1:09 remaining to lift the New York Rangers to victory over the Winnipeg Jets.

Antti Raanta made 17 saves for New York while Winnipeg's Michael Hutchinson stopped 22 shots.

Flames 2, Coyotes 1 (OT)

Dougie Hamilton scored at 1:09 of overtime to lift the Flames to their fifth straight win, a 2-1 decision over the Arizona Coyotes.

Calgary captain Mark Giordano scored a power-play goal while his team mates killed off all three Arizona power plays and goaltender Chad Johnson made 27 saves.

Mike Smith made 33 saves for Arizona.

Stars 5, Predators 2

Jamie Benn and Jason Spezza each had a goal and two assists, and Kari Lehtonen stopped 34 of 36 shots for Dallas in a win against Nashville.

Antoine Roussel and Tyler Seguin also had a goal and an assist each for the Stars, who also got a goal from Brett Ritchie.

Viktor Arvidsson and Calle Jarnkrok scored for the Predators.

Hurricanes 3, Kings 1

Derek Ryan scored twice to lead the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Brock McGinn added a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, while goalie Cam Ward stopped 20 of 21 shots.

Goaltender Jeff Zatkoff started in goal for the Kings to give Peter Budaj a rest after he had started 23 successive games. Zatkoff had 17 saves.
