[December 10, 2016]   Dec 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Right wing Cal Clutterbuck agreed on a five-year extension with the New York Islanders, the team announced on Friday.

The extension keeps the 29-year-old Clutterbuck under contract through the 2022-23 season. His deal is worth $17.5 million, according to published reports.

Clutterbuck has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 25 games this season, his fourth with the Islanders after tallying 23 points (15 goals, eight assists) in 77 games last season.

The Arizona Coyotes acquired center Peter Holland from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 2018 conditional draft choice.

Holland, 25, had an assist in eight games with Toronto this season and registered 70 points (30 goals, 40 assists) in 203 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs and Anaheim Ducks.

"Peter is a big, solid centerman with good NHL experience," Coyotes general manager John Chayka said in a statement. "We look forward to having him join our team."

The Dallas Stars activated forward Jiri Hudler from injured reserve after he missed 23 games due to an undisclosed illness.

Hudler, 32, has not recorded a point in four games this season. The Czech was signed by Dallas as a free agent on Aug. 24.

The Stars also reassigned forward Jason Dickinson to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

The Winnipeg Jets reassigned forward Kyle Connor to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

Connor, 20, has one goal and three assists in 19 games with the Jets this season. The American is in his first professional season after spending last year at the University of Michigan, where he led the NCAA with 71 points (35 goals, 36 assists) in 38 games.

Connor was selected by the Jets in the first round (17th overall) of the 2015 NHL draft.

The Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned defenseman Slater Koekkoek to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Koekkoek, 22, appeared in 17 games with the Lightning this season, posting four assists and six penalty minutes.

Koekkoek was selected by the Lightning in the first round (10th overall) of the 2012 NHL draft. (Editing by Larry Fine)
