LYNX Swimmers Honored

Lincoln College Swimming announced Tuesday Madison Westhoff (So,
Normal) and Oakley Johns (Fr, Nandi Fiji) Were awarded the female and
male swimmer of the week for the independent swimming and diving
conference. The independent swimming and diving conference is comprised
of all NCAA Division 2 & 3, NJCAA, and NAIA schools.
Madi Ewald (So, Lincoln) was awarded the title of Top Performance South
of the Border for an NJCAA Athlete. This title was given to an athlete
of each college division who was not competing at the short course world
championships in Windsor Canada this past weekend.

Logan McDanel (So, East Moline) was awarded top 3 swimming
performances this past weekend in college swimming.
Coach Jordan said “ Our athletes have been working very hard in the
pool. It is great to see four student-athletes getting the
recognition that they deserve.”
During the first half of the season, the Men’s team has a record of
nine wins and five losses in dual meet action. On the women’s side,
they have finished the first half of the season with a dual meet
record of 10 wins and six losses. Both teams have suffered losses to
North Central College and Franklin College whom they have competed
against multiple times this season in quad-meet action. Notable wins
for the Lynx so far this season on both the women’s and men’s side
include Illinois College and Millikin University.

For the Lincoln College Divers Nichole Cure (Fr, Rockton) is
currently ranked first in the nation for the 1M springboard event.
The Lynx will be back in action after the New Years on January 3,
2017, at the Indian River State Winter Training trip Invite in Fort
Pierce Florida.
