[December 21, 2016]  LINCOLN -  Nancy Edna Reese, 79, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Friday December 9, 2016 at memorial Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 14 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Lincoln

Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Obituary

Nancy Edna Reese, 79, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Friday December 9, 2016 at memorial Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born on September 21, 1937 in Herrin, daughter of Lawrence and Audrey (Starnes) Benedict. She married Wallace H. Reese on October 16, 1954 in Chester. He survives her.

Also surviving are her children: Scott (Lisa) Reese of Springfield, David Reese of Lincoln, Richard (Carol) Reese of Springfield, and Kenneth (Celista) Reese of Elkhart, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son: Martin Reese.

 

Nancy was a member of The Lincoln Christian Church, the Red Hats, The Relay For Life of Logan County where she was announced the oldest breast cancer survivor in Logan County. She enjoyed singing and performed in Harmony First, a chorus group in Springfield. She also enjoyed oil painting.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 15, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Ron Otto officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday December 14, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield will follow the service.

Memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to Logan County Relay For Life or Lincoln Christian Church.
