Dec 21 (The Sports Xchange) -
Former Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd, claimed by the New England
Patriots off waivers this week, had a blood-alcohol level of .217
when he was arrested on Dec. 12, the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Police
Department said Wednesday.
Floyd was arrested and charged with obstructing a roadway, DUI
impaired to the slightest degree, DUI blood alcohol content (BAC)
above .08 and failure to obey a police officer. Police said he fell
asleep in the driver's seat of his vehicle while stopped at a
traffic signal.
Extreme DUI in Arizona is defined as having a BAC of 0.15 percent or
higher within two hours of operating a vehicle.
The Cardinals released Floyd two days after he was arrested, and the
Patriots claimed the receiver last Thursday.

Former NFL coach Jon Gruden, the color commentator on ESPN's "Monday
Night Football," says he has "no intentions of coaching" right now
despite being the subject of another rumor -- this time for the Los
Angeles Rams' opening.
The Rams have begun their coaching search after firing Jeff Fisher
on Dec. 12, and reportedly set their sights on Gruden, the former
Raiders and Buccaneers head coach. Gruden won a Super Bowl with the
Bucs in 2003 but has been out of coaching since 2008 and is under
contract with ESPN through the 2021 season.

New York Giants Pro Bowl cornerback Janoris Jenkins is listed as
questionable for Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia
Eagles after taking a knee to the back in last week's 17-6 victory
over the Detroit Lions.
Despite the scare, Jenkins was cleared and able to take part on a
limited basis in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tests on Monday revealed he had a bruised back.

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict passed concussion
protocol during last Sunday's game but reported symptoms this week
and was held out of practice Wednesday.
Burfict will now be evaluated from both team and independent doctors
to see if he can get cleared in time to face the Houston Texans on
Saturday night.
Burfict came out after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers
guard David DeCastro in the first half. He was checked for a
concussion but played in the second half of the Bengals' 24-20 loss
to Pittsburgh.

The Bengals also practiced without running back Jeremy Hill (knee),
tight end Tyler Eifert (back) and left guard Clint Boling
(shoulder). Wide receiver A.J. Green was on the practice field
Wednesday after missing the last four games with a hamstring injury.
--
The San Francisco 49ers signed offensive lineman Andrew Gardner to a
one-year deal and waived offensive lineman Josh Allen on Wednesday.
Gardner, 30, was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins in the
sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft and also played with the Ravens,
Vikings, Bengals, Texans and Eagles.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted wide receiver Bernard Reedy from
the practice squad and placed receiver Donteea Dye on injured
reserve Wednesday.
Dye was hurt during Tuesday's practice.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore was named AFC Offensive Player
of the Week for his triumphant return to the starting lineup after
five years, the NFL announced Wednesday.
Falcons running back Devonta Freeman earned the NFC offensive award
for his performance against the 49ers. Raiders linebacker Bruce
Irvin was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after his
six-tackle, two-sack performance in the 19-16 win over the San Diego
Chargers.
Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix took the NFC defensive honor after
two interceptions in the 30-27 win over the Bears. Titans kicker
Ryan Succop was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after his
53-yard winning field goal as time expired in below-freezing
temperatures beat the Kansas City Chiefs 19-17.
New York Giants punter Brad Wing won NFC Special Teams Player of the
Week for the second straight week after averaging 42.6 yards and
dropping two punts inside the 20 as the Giants beat the Detroit
Lions 17-6. (Editing by Larry Fine) ))
