In her role, Oesterlein runs tests on all kinds of specimens
including blood, urine, stool and other body fluids.
Born and raised in Germany, Oesterlein knew from the young age of 14
that she wanted to work in a medical lab. After graduating with her
degree in August 2000, she began her career at the Department of
Virology at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany. After a short
time at a hospital that specialized in liver disease, she returned
to the University of Wuerzburg where she worked in the molecular
biology department as lab manager and researched antibiotic
resistance and sepsis.
She enjoys her role at ALMH and takes pride in being an ALMH
employee.

“Every day I am impressed by how community-oriented ALMH is, and
how much the community supports the hospital. Also, I work with a
great group of professionals who do their best everyday, from the
emergency room physicians to the volunteers,” said Oesterlin.
ALMH is a 25-bed critical access hospital located at 200 Stahlhut
Drive in Lincoln, Illinois and is an affiliate of Memorial Health
