							Obituary 
							Jo Lee Herschelman, 81, of Springfield (formerly of 
							Galesburg) passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 
							at 2:00 a.m. at the Oak Terrace Nursing Home in 
							Springfield.
 Services will be held in Galesburg and Buffalo, 
							Wyoming at later dates. Cremation Rites have been 
							accorded.
 
 Jo Lee Celley was born on December 14, 1935 in 
							Buffalo, Wyoming, the daughter of John Albert "Jack" 
							and Edna Beatrice (Christiansen)"Eddie" Celley. She 
							was united in marriage to John F. Herschelman in 
							June, 1958, they later divorced.
 
 Surviving are her children: Leonard Alan (Anita 
							Johnson) of Galesburg, Ellen Jo (Mayito) Farias of 
							Springfield and Dale Frederick (Tawnya) Herschelman 
							of Galesburg. Grandchildren: Jonathan (Sara Swigart) 
							Herschelman, Gregory, Elya and Andre 
							Farias-Herschelman, Hunter and Hayden Herschelman. 
							Great grandson: Braxtyn David Herschelman. She is 
							also survived by cousins, a niece and three nephews, 
							her faithful dog, “Wally”and many that called her 
							"Mom".
 
 She was preceded in death by her parents and two 
							infant brothers.
 
							Jo graduated from Buffalo High School, Blackburn 
							College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary 
							Education and MacMurray College with a Master's 
							Degree in Special Education.

							She retired from District # 205 in Galesburg in 
							1997, then taught several more years in Idaho at 
							Hope House.
 She is a member of the Trinity Anglican Church in 
							Monmouth.
 
 Her hobbies included rock/coin collecting, reading, 
							cooking, photography, travel, and volunteering her 
							time and talents where they were needed. She had 
							friends from around the world. No one in her 
							presence ever went hungry or unloved. She taught her 
							kids to love fiercely, be loyal, forgiving and 
							honest and to work hard. She expected them to, at 
							the very least, learn from poor choices and mistakes 
							when they were made, and strive to do better.
 
 Memorials may be made to: Mayo Clinic, ALS 
							Association or Trinity Anglican Church, Monmouth.
 
 Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is assisting the
