Illini lose to Wisconsin

[February 01, 2016]  CHAMPAIGN-URBANA - The Illinois Illini lost to Wisconsin 63-55 Sunday night in the State Farm Center. The Illini started well then let it start slipping away by halftime. In the second half Illinois got within 3 or 4 a couple of times but could never get over the hump.

Malcolm Hill led the way for Illinois with 22 points and Kendrick Nunn added 15. Nigel Hayes led Wisconsin with 17, Bronson Koenig had 11, and Khalil Iverson chipped in 10 points.

With the loss the Illini fell to 2-7 in the league and to 10-12 overall. Next up for Illinois is a home contest against league leader Iowa Sunday at noon.
