Coaches Jennifer Keith, Wyatt Phillis and Betsy Buttell are pleased
to announce this year's regional entries for the team.
In Dramatic Duet Acting, senior Lena Stapleton and sophomore Justin
Woods will present "The Best Medicine," while senior Braden Tanner
will perform his Dramatic Interpretation "White People." Tanner will
also present his Poetry Reading of Shane Koyczan's "To This Day."
In Extemporaneous Speaking, junior Reagen Tibbs will prepare and
give a 6-minute speech on an international topic he selects 45
minutes prior to speaking, while freshman Laura Centers will prepare
and give a 5-minute radio broadcast in the same amount of
preparation time. Tibbs will also present his Original Oratory, "How
PETA got the FFA all wrong."
Junior Claire Conrady will give her Original Comedy "The Smother"
and her Prose Reading selections from "She's Come Undone," while
Woods will present his Humorous Interpretation "How to Kiss a Girl."
Stapleton and senior McKenzie Landers will perform their Humorous
Duet Acting selection of "My Quiet Neighbor" and senior Elliot Smith
will give "Be an Ally," an original informative speech.

Freshman Aleaya Turley will give her Special Occasion Speaking performance of
"Spoiler Alert" and freshman Hunter McKinney will perform Oratorical
Declamation. Junior Jake Berglin will do Impromptu Speaking.
The students compete at the IHSA Regionals Saturday at Normal West High School
in Normal. The top four students in each event advance to Sectional competition
on Feb. 13 in Belleville. From there the top 3 advance to IHSA State Individual
Event competition in Peoria on Feb. 19-20.
