The nationally ranked Lincoln College Men’s Volleyball program
will open their Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference season this weekend
by hosting an eight-team Regional tournament on Saturday, February 6th.

The first matches of pool play begin at 8 a.m. in the Jack D. Nutt
Arena in the Lincoln Center. Bracket play for the Gold and Silver
divisions is scheduled to begin at 2:45 p.m. Admission is free.
The Lynx were recently ranked 13th in the nation (DII) by the
National Collegiate Volleyball Federation and will have two teams
playing in the tournament.
The other teams competing are Bradley University, Lewis University,
University of Chicago, University of Illinois-Springfield,
University of Kansas and Wheaton College.
Lincoln College Coach Mark Tippett: "We are very excited to be
hosting the first club conference event of the season. Since last
year was our first season, I think we surprised a lot of teams in
the MWPVC by finishing in second place at the Conference
Championships.

"It’s fun to be ranked nationally going into this season, but it
also shows that the rest of the Conference is aware of us this year,
and I’m sure we will get their best shots right away.
"There will be several strong teams at this event, so it should be a
fun day of volleyball."
