 NEWARK, N.J. -- David Schlemko's power-play goal 5:19 into the first period was all the offense the New Jersey Devils would need in a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday afternoon.

Kings goaltender Jhonas Enroth made 18 saves.

Schlemko opened and closed the scoring with a power-play goal 5:19 into the game. With Joseph Blandisi providing a screen, Schlemko ripped a shot from the middle of the ice that Enroth did not see.

Sabres 4, Avalanche 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist to lead Buffalo to past Colorado.

Jack Eichel, Evander Kane and Marcus Foligno also scored for the Sabres. Robin Lehner made 34 saves.

Erik Johnson scored for the Avalanche. Calvin Pickard made 16 saves and allowed one goal after replacing Semyon Varlamov less than five minutes into the game.

Red Wings 6, Bruins 5

DETROIT -- Henrik Zetterberg had two goals and an assist, including the game-winner in the third period to give Detroit the win against Boston.

Pavel Datsyuk had two goals and an assist to surpass 900 points for his career, and Darren Helm scored twice for Detroit. Justin Abdelkader and Brad Richards had two assists each, and goalie Petr Mrazek stopped 17 shots.

Brad Marchand, Zach Trotman, Loui Eriksson, Dennis Seidenberg and Joonas Kemppainen scored for Boston. David Krejci had two assists, and goaltender Tuukka Rask made 19 saves before being replaced by former Red Wing Jonas Gustavsson, who made 10 saves.

Blues 2, Lightning 1

TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay avoided its first shutout in nearly two months but took another loss, with St. Louis goalie Brian Elliott stopping the Lightning's first 35 shots and finishing with 37 saves.

St. Louis got a goal in the opening minute of the second period on a breakaway by Robby Fabbri, then went on to win despite being outshot by a 2-to-1 margin for most of the game. Tampa Bay has lost three of its past four to drop into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the tightly bunched Eastern Conference standings.

Patrik Berglund doubled the lead to 2-0 with 2:19 left in regulation. Tampa Bay pulled its goalie in the final two minutes and got a goal from Nikita Kucherov with 52 seconds left.

Rangers 3, Flyers 1

NEW YORK -- Henrik Lundqvist came within 9.7 seconds of his second consecutive shutout as New York stymied Philadelphia. The Rangers are 5-0-1 in their past six games and 8-2-1 in their past 11.

Derick Brassard scored for the Rangers in the first period, and Derek Stepan added two goals in the third period. Dan Girardi and Mats Zuccarello had two assists apiece. Lundqvist stopped 21 of 22 shots.

Brayden Schenn spoiled the shutout bid with a six-on-four goal in the final seconds. Flyers goaltender Steve Mason made 27 saves.
