Harris projects as a power forward -- or stretch 4 in head coach
Stan Van Gundy's vernacular -- in a frontcourt that includes center
Andre Drummond.
Harris averaged 17.1 points per game last season but his perimeter
shooting has dropped off and his overall numbers are down under head
coach Scott Skiles (13.7 points, 7.0 rebounds per game).
He recently signed a four-year, $64 million extension with the
Magic.

NBA Note - Orlando Magic Jennings, Brandon
PG Brandon Jennings and F Ersan Ilyasova -- two players with
expiring contracts -- were traded from the Pistons to the Magic on
Tuesday in exchange for F Tobias Harris.
"Brandon and Ersan are two veterans that will help balance our
roster and provide valuable experience to our team," Magic general
manager Rob Hennigan said. "Both players bring scoring,
competitiveness and added depth to our roster."
Jennings, 26, is averaging 6.8 points and three assists per game
this season.

NBA Note - Orlando Magic Ilyasova, Ersan
F Ersan Ilyasova and PG Brandon Jennings -- two players with
expiring contracts -- were traded from the Pistons to the Magic on
Tuesday in exchange for F Tobias Harris.

NBA Note - Charlotte Hornets Lee, Courtney
G Courtney Lee was acquired by the Hornets from the Grizzlies on
Tuesday in a three-team deal that included the Heat.
F P.J. Hairston went from the Hornets to the Grizzlies, and F/C
Chris Andersen went from the Heat to the Grizzlies. G Brian Roberts
moved from the Hornets to the Heat. Additionally, the Grizzlies
received four second-round draft picks, two from Charlotte in 2018
and 2019, and two from Miami.
Lee is expected to give the Hornets some help with scoring and
perimeter defense. In 15 games this season, he was averaging 10
points and 2.3 rebounds per game and shooting 37 percent on
3-pointers.

F P.J. Hairston was dealt from the Hornets to the Grizzlies on
Tuesday in a three-team deal that also included the Heat.
G Courtney Lee moved from the Grizzlies to the Hornets, and F/C
Chris Andersen went from the Heat to the Grizzlies. G Brian Roberts
moved from the Hornets to the Heat. Additionally, the Grizzlies
received four second-round draft picks, two from Charlotte in 2018
and 2019, and two from Miami.
Hairston, 22, is in his second year in the league and is averaging
6.0 points and 2.7 rebounds this season.

moved from the Hornets to the Heat. Additionally, the Grizzlies
received four second-round draft picks, two from Charlotte in 2018
and 2019, and two from Miami.
The Grizzlies, in need of front-line help after a season-ending
injury to C Marc Gasol, hope to get rebounding and defense from
Andersen, who is in the last year of his contract. For his career,
Andersen averages 5.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per
game.

NBA Note - Phoenix Suns McRae, Jordan
G Jordan McRae, who scored an NBA Development League record 61
points last month, was called up by the Suns from Bakersfield.In six
games with the Suns this season, McRae is averaging 4.8 points and
1.2 assists. He had 12 points and four assists in his NBA debut on
Jan. 29 against the New York Knicks.
The 24-year-old McRae previously signed a second 10-day contract
with the Suns on Feb. 8.
In 28 games with Bakersfield this season, the D-League All-Star was
third in scoring with a 23.1-point average and averaging 5.2
assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals.

NBA Note - Charlotte Hornets Kidd-Gilchrist, Michael
F Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will have season-ending shoulder surgery
after recently sustaining a second labrum injury.
Dr. Gerald Williams will perform the repair Wednesday in
Philadelphia, the team announced Tuesday.
Kidd-Gilchrist hurt the shoulder again Feb. 10 in a win over the
Pacers after recovering from a labrum tear during preseason to
return to the court. Kidd-Gilchrist ended up playing in just seven
games this season, averaging 12.7 points and 6.4 rebounds, after
signing a four-year, $52 million contract extension in September.

NBA Note - Atlanta Hawks Splitter, Tiago
C Tiago Splitter opted for hip surgery that will force him to miss
the remainder of the season, the Hawks announced Tuesday.
The Hawks said a date for surgery is yet to be determined. Splitter
decided to pursue the surgery after getting a second opinion on
treatment options.
Before the NBA All-Star Game break, Splitter sat out six games to
rest his right hip. He has not played in a game since late January.
The 31-year-old veteran has been bothered by the hip for much of
this season. He was averaging 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 16
minutes in 36 games.

NBA Note - Los Angeles Clippers Griffin, Blake
F Blake Griffin, talking to the media Tuesday for the first time
since breaking his right hand in a fight, expressed his regret for
the Jan. 23 incident.
Griffin hurt the hand when he punched assistant equipment manager
Matias Testi during an argument at a Toronto restaurant. The
Clippers suspended Griffin four games because of the fight.
"It's something I think about every day and wish I could take it
back, and I've told Matias that," Griffin told reporters in Playa
Vista, Calif.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Griffin could return to action
next month, after he sits out four games following his return to
health from the hand injury and a prior left quadriceps injury.
