The Peoria Riverfront Museum is hosting Engineering Day on
February 21st to celebrate.
Prairie Engineers of Illinois and other Peoria area engineering
firms and organizations have underwritten the cost to offer free
admission to all attendees on Engineering Day. The museum will be
open from noon to 5 p.m. with demonstrations, hands-on activities,
and the opportunity to talk to engineers and explore engineering
careers.
Elsewhere locally, there will be a bridge breaking competition for
area high school students at White Oaks Mall in Springfield on
Friday evening, February 26th.
Engineers continue to experience a favorable job market with demand
for engineers expected to grow by 10 percent over the coming decade.
Engineering is a very versatile degree, with career options spanning
healthcare, agriculture, entertainment, business, environmental,
infrastructure, aerospace, manufacturing, and many more.
More information about Engineers Week and careers in engineering can
