NEW YORK -- Artemi Panarin's second goal of
game broke a tie with three minutes remaining, then he added an
empty-net goal for his first career hat trick as the Chicago Blackhawks
defeated the New York Rangers 5-3 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday
night.

Patrick Kane set up the power-play goal by Panarin with a pass from
behind the goal line.
Andrew Shaw and Andrew Desjardins also scored for the Blackhawks,
who got 30 saves from Corey Crawford.
Dan Boyle, Derick Brassard and Kevin Hayes scored for the Rangers.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 15 shots.
Avalanche 3, Canadiens 2
DENVER -- Jarome Iginla scored twice, including a tiebreaking goal
with 2:03 remaining, and Colorado beat Montreal.
Erik Johnson also scored, Matt Duchene had two assists and Semyon
Varlamov made 32 saves for the Avalanche, who snapped a four-game
losing streak at home.
Lars Eller and Andrei Markov had goals for the Canadiens while Ben
Scrivens stopped 25 shots.
Wild 5, Flames 3
CALGARY, Alberta -- Jason Pominville and Erik Haula had a goal and
an assist each to lead Minnesota to a win over Calgary at the
Scotiabank Saddledome.

Nino Niederreiter chipped in with two assists to give the line six
points as the Wild won their second straight game under interim head
coach John Torchetti.
Mikko Koivu also had a goal and an assist, while Jason Zucker and
Charlie Coyle also scored. Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk made 25
saves to record his 20th win of the season.
