KIDS WORSHIP—Treasure Island!
February 2016
Kids, come explore with us as we search
Treasure Island to DISCOVER some
incredible Bible lessons! Each week we
will dig deep into the Bible where we
will find ways that we can give to our
great God! Paul said in
1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone
look down on you because you are young,
but set an example…” There are lots
of ways kids can be a great example and
one is by learning to give unselfishly.
We’ll be finding out how we can give our
talents, time, treasures, and lives to
God every day! Our key verse for the
month is, “Give as freely as you have
received!” Matthew 10:8
Moms and Dads, here’s where we’ll
journey on Treasure Island if you want
to talk about it with your kids at home!
• The Israelites Build the
Tabernacle—Exodus 35:10-36:7. We use our
talents for God.
• Nehemiah Gives His Time to Rebuild the
Wall—Nehemiah 2:1-6:16. We use our time
for God.
• Jesus Tells About the Widow’s
Offering—Mark 12:41-44. We give our
treasures to God.
• The Rich Young Ruler—Matthew 19:16-26.
We give our lives to God.

Jake's
Boys Music Ministry In Concert at Atlanta United Methodist Church
corner
of 2nd and Race Sts.
The Atlanta
UMC invites you to join us on Sunday, March 6, at 5:00 pm as we
present "Jake's Boys" in concert. The group of 8 guys from the
Gibson City area have been performing together since 1997, when they
first came together for a local production of Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat. All eight of the guys participated in the
musical and wanted to keep singing together after the final curtain
call. At first they got together every week just to sing. Eventually
someone asked them to share at community service and things haven't
been the same since. Their name came from the fact that most of them
played sons of Jacob in the musical. Jacob's Sons became Jake's
Boys.
They have performed for small church families, large church
families, pie auctions, local benefits, civic organizations, ice
cream socials, appreciation dinners, county fairs and state
conventions. They sing mostly southern gospel songs, but also share a
wide variety of music that centers on patriotic and old-time hymns.
There is no charge at attend. A freewill donation will be gratefully
accepted, and funds raised will go towards the seminary expenses of
a member of the congregation who is working towards his ministerial
degree and is currently attending Garrett Theological Seminary in
Chicago.
A spaghetti dinner will follow the concert and is open to everyone.
