LINCOLN
- After a highly successful 2015 benefit production, Lincoln
Community Theatre is looking for personnel to man each of two
musicals it will produce this summer: Bye, Bye, Birdie and I Love
You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.
|
The LCT Board will hold interviews for the positions of Artistic
Director, Technical Director, and Musical Accompanist for both shows
on March 6
LCT board policy is to schedule a six-week rehearsal period plus one
week of technical preparation in the theatre prior to the
performance.
Kicking off the season this summer will be a rocking and rolling
production of Bye, Bye, Birdie. First produced in 1963, this classic
musical has been updated with new songs and dialogue that were
written especially for its 1995 television production. With roles
for all ages, including a crazy teenage crowd, this is a family show
that will leave all humming a happy tune in toe-tapping good humor.
The show will run June 3, 4, 5 and June 10, 11, 12.

The second musical of the summer will be I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,
which will run June 30, and July 1, 2, and 3. This show will appeal to anyone
who has ever wanted to be in a relationship, been in a relationship, or wished
they could get out of a relationship. It explores those feelings most adults
have experienced “Does he/she like me?” “How happy we are!” “How did we end up
in this mess?” Best of all, it does so with a great big underscore on the
humorous side and will be a wonderful vehicle to showcase the talents of two to
four men and women.
Coming soon will be information concerning casting auditions which will be held
in early April.
