[February 22, 2016]  MOUNT PULASKI - Donald L. Allspach, 80, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Sunday February 14, 2015 at his home.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday February 18th at the Mount Pulaski Christian Church Family Life Center.

Service: 10 a.m. Friday, February 19th, at the Mount Pulaski Christian Church.

Obituary

Donald L. Allspach, 80, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Sunday February 14, 2016 at his home.

Donald was born on September 26, 1935 in Decatur, to Elmer and Helen Birks Allspach. He was a farmer in the Mount Pulaski area his entire life. He was a member of the Copeland Christian Church, Mount Pulaski Masonic Lodge #87, Springfield Shriners, Mount Pulaski Lions Club and the Logan County Farm Bureau. Donald married Shirley E. Cary on March 10, 1957 in Mt. Auburn. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2013.

Surviving are three children, Debra (Chris) Neaville of Mount Pulaski, Janet Toohey of Fancy Prairie, and Gary (Kella) Allspach of Mount Pulaski. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, John and Edward.

Services for Donald will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 19, 2016 at the Mount Pulaski Christian Church with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday February 18, 2016 at the Mount Pulaski Christian Church Family Life Center. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Burial will be at Steenbergen Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or The Mount Pulaski EMS. Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
