For the ladies team, Sophomore Ebony Smith (North Chicago, IL)
placed 6th in the 60M dash and Sophomore Mallory Tharp (Kirkwood,
IL) placed 5th in the mile. The 4x400 team of Freshman Sala Hanne
(East Moline, IL), Freshman Amber Pierce (Calumet Park, IL),
Sophomore Jamiera Stennis (Robbins, IL), and Sophomore Raytoria
Richardson (Joliet, IL) finished in 6th place.
On the men's side, Sophomore Austin Picton (Canton, IL) finished 7th
in the 60M dash, Freshman Roman Hampton (Peoria, IL) finished 8th in
the 200 and placed 7th in the long jump. Freshman Earl Armstrong
(Toledo, OH) took 5th in the 400M run, Freshman Alex Centi (Palm
Coast, FL) finished 5th in the 600M run, Sophomore Austin Webster
(East Moline, IL) finished 3rd in the mile, and Sophomore John Davis
(Lincoln, IL) won the 5,000M run.. The 4x400 team of Armstrong,
Sophomore John Lawrence (Wataga, IL), Centi, and Sophomore David
Abejide (Elgin, IL) finished in 4th place. Freshman Daniel Welling
(Monticello, IL) finished 4th in the high jump, Sophomore Jared Kern
(Machesney Park, IL) took 2nd in the shot put while his teammate
Sophomore Kyle Kling (Loves Park, IL) finished in 3rd.
Head coach Brian Herron said, "For the most part I was pleased with
our performances. The point of this meet was for us to finish our
indoor season with our best marks of the season and most of our
athletes did that tonight. We had a solid indoor season. Now we have
to train even harder to get ready for our outdoor season."
The Lynx will begin it's outdoor season on March 24th for the Bill
Smith Open hosted by Vincennes University. This date has been
changed from April 2nd.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Keona Bolden
On Saturday, the Lincoln College women's basketball team traveled to
Parkland College to take on the Cobras and came away a 110-50 loser
in the MWAC Conference contest. The Lynx were led by Freshman
forward Keona Bolden (Springfield, IL) with 12 points and nine
rebounds. Sophomore forward Ashanti Barnett (Zion, IL) added eight
points off the bench for the Lady Lynx. Lincoln (6-20; 0-8) shot
19-for-57 for 33.3% from the field including 1-of-9 (11.1%) from the
three point line. Lincoln shot 14 free throws making 11 of them for
78.6%.

Foul trouble hurt LC as three Lynx starters eventually fouled out.
Turnovers were also an issue as the Lady Lynx turned it over 42
times to Parkland's 14. The Cobras shot a blistering 59.6%
(34-for-57) from the field in the game and made 32-of-38 (84.2%)
free throws.
Lincoln will travel to Danville to take on the Jaguars of Danville
Area College on Wednesday, February 24. The game is scheduled for
5:30 p.m.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
David Anderson
On Saturday, the LC men's team also traveled to Champaign for a MWAC
Conference game and the Lynx fell short losing 79-72. Four Lynx were
in double figures with Sophomore David Anderson (Peoria, IL) leading
the way with 16 points while dishing out three assists. Anderson was
4-of-12 from the field including 1-for-2 from behind the arc. Also
in double figures was Sophomore Conlan Callahan (Seneca, IL) with
12, and Sophomore Juvon Turner (Chicago, IL) and Freshman Stephen
Williams (Chicago, IL) added 10 points apiece. Lincoln (10-18; 3-5)
shot 23-for-54 for 42.6% from the field including 8-of-18 (44.4%)
from the three point line. Parkland (17-11; 5-3) shot 47% for the
game.
Along with the women's team, the men will also travel to Danville on
Wednesday, February 24 for a 7:30pm MWAC game. Both teams will wrap
up their regular season at home on Saturday, February 27. The women
will play Lewis & Clark at 2:00pm while the men will take on ICC at
4:00 p.m.
