As Elway addressed the media at Lucas Oil Stadium, the clock was
ticking down from 12 days until the new league year frees
quarterback Brock Osweiler to the open market with outside
linebacker Von Miller ticketed for free agency and Peyton Manning
contemplating retirement.
"We're going to give Peyton the time that Peyton deserves, because
of 18 years and he deserves that," Elway said. "We're going to
respect the fact and give him the time. There is not an answer there
yet."

The Philadelphia Eagles say they want Sam Bradford back as their
starting quarterback. But with the start of the free agency signing
period just two weeks away, there still is no guarantee that is
going to happen.
Howie Roseman, the team's executive vice president of football
operations, has had over-the-phone contract discussions with
Bradford's agent, Tom Condon, and said that he expects to meet with
him in person at some point this week during the NFL scouting
combine in Indianapolis. But whether that will result in a deal
getting done remains to be seen.

Is Roddy White staying or going?
Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn could not shine any light on
the future of the wide receiver.
[to top of second column] |
"Not yet," Quinn said at the Scouting Combine, when asked if the
team had a final decision. "He's somebody that we certainly know
that we have a lot of respect and admiration for. As we are building
this team together, he and some other players go on to that line.
We're not into that decision yet. When we do regarding team building
processes, we'll fill you guys in."

Running back Trent Richardson has been a disappointment in the NFL
ever since he was the No. 3 overall pick out of Alabama in the 2012
NFL Draft.
However, it appears the Baltimore Ravens are willing to give
Richardson one more chance. Al.com reported that the Ravens plan to
sign him soon.
Richardson, 25, was released by the Indianapolis before the start of
the 2015 season and was picked up by Oakland. But he failed to make
the Raiders' opening-game roster. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
