Obituary
Edgar Lawrence Logan, 91, passed away at 1:30 p.m.
on February 20, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in
Springfield.
Edgar was born on December 9, 1924 in Mason City,
IA; son of Alvin and Hattie Logan. He married Evelyn
Sloan on May 22, 1949 in Lincoln. She preceded him
in death on March 27, 2012.
Surviving Edgar are his children: Lee (Barbara)
Logan of Peoria, Roy Logan of Lincoln, John (Becky)
Logan of Sherman; one sister, Shirley Singley of
Mount Pulaski; four grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his siblings.
Edgar was in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South
Pacific. He was a member of Lincoln Christian
Church, a youth sponsor for many years, and was part
of the church choir for many years. He was also a
former deacon of the church as well. He was one of
the charter members of the Harvest of Talents. His
hobbies included gardening and wood working. |
Services for Edgar will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday
February 25, 2016, at Lincoln Christian Church with
Ron Otto and Gene Shephard officiating. Visitation
will be from 4 -7:00 p.m. prior to the service also
at the church. Memorials may be given in Edgar’s
name to the Harvest of Talents or St. John’s
Hospice. A private graveside service at New Union
Cemetery will be held at a later date where full
military rites will be accorded.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
