J.M. Abbott & Associates announces new appointments

[February 27, 2016]  J. M. Abbott & Associates, Ltd., a local certified public accounting firm is pleased to announce the appointments of Andrew Hayes, CPA and Debra Last, CPA as principals of the Company.

Andrew Hayes graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2001, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. In 2009, Andy completed his Master’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, Springfield and earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2011. Andy currently manages the tax department for the firm. His practice concentrates in the areas of corporate and partnership taxation, small business consulting and planning, and individual taxation and compliance.

Debra Last graduated cum laude from Illinois State University in 1989, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She earned her CPA designation that same year. Debbie manages the audit practice of the firm and is responsible for the firm’s high standards of excellence for meeting the firm’s peer review requirements. Debbie’s areas of specialization are not-for-profit organizations, nursing homes and school districts. She is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor and provides consultation services to small businesses.
