Obituary
Joyce “Marie” Wolpert, 73, of Beason passed away at
her home at 2:57 p.m. on January 6, 2016 surrounded
by her family.
Marie was born August 29, 1942 in Laurinburg, NC,
the daughter of Collie and Annabelle Gore Brigman.
She married Kenneth Wolpert on September 29, 1962 at
Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lincoln. Kenneth survives
in Beason.
Also surviving Marie are her two sons: Terry (Kim)
Wolpert of Decatur; Ronald (Ann Beaver Witting)
Wolpert of Baton Rouge, LA; one daughter: Melissa
(Richard) Macias of Warrenton, VA; three sisters:
Rosie Oelke of Oak Creek, WI; Letha Wyland of
Laurinburg, NC; Shirley Brigman and two brothers:
Jesse Brigman, and David Brigman, all of McColl, SC;
six grandchildren: Tyler and Chad Wolpert; Lauren
and Katie Wolpert, and Kelsey and Jessica Dias. She
was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers:
Bobbie and Lonnie Brigman and one sister: Betty
Norton. |
Marie was a cook at Castle Manor and cooked at
various schools and nursing homes. She enjoyed
reading, crafting, and spending time with her
grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Eagles Lodge, 1621
N. Kickapoo St., Lincoln, IL. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be given in Marie’s name to Castle
Manor, Lincoln. Services were entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
