Malcolm Hill led the charge with 30 points while Kendrick
Nunn returned to the team and chipped in 22 to lead the Illini
to an 84-70 triumph over the Boilers. It was the first league
win for the Illini who are now 1-3 in Big Ten play as Purdue
suffered its first true road loss of the year.
Purdue out-rebounded Illinois 31-25. The Illini forced Purdue
into 16 turnovers which led to 24 points, and were the first
team this season that shot over 50% from the field against the
Boilers finishing at 54% including blistering shooting in the
second half and from three-point range. Jalen Coleman-Lands
added ten points for the Illini and Maverick Morgan had 6 points
off the bench.
Illinois has a few days off before they host the Nebraska
Cornhuskers Saturday at 1:30.
