Celtics 117, Suns 103
BOSTON -- Boston reached a small milestone in the professional
coaching career of Brad Stevens on Friday night.
Boston's win over Phoenix gave the Celtics a 21-19 record and
ensured the team will be above .500 at the midpoint of the season
for the first time since Stevens left Butler three years ago for the
pros.
The Celtics were 14-27 in the first half of Stevens' first year and
15-26 the first half of last season. They hit the official midpoint
of this season when they open a three-game road trip on Saturday
night at Washington.
Kelly Olynyk, who came in averaging 9.4 points per game, scored 13
straight points in a 22-4 run that ended the first half and sent the
Suns (13-28) to their 13th loss in their last 14 games.
Pelicans 109, Hornets 107
NEW ORLEANS -- Ryan Anderson scored 21 of his season-high 32 points
in the first half and Anthony Davis iced the game with an alley-oop
dunk off a feed from Jrue Holiday with two seconds left to lift New
Orleans to a victory over Charlotte at the Smoothie King Center.
Davis' game-winning bucket came after Holiday penetrated against
Kemba Walker. Holiday saw Davis roll to the basket and threw a soft
lob that Davis finished with a two-hand finish to break a 107-107
tie.
The Pelicans snapped a three-game home losing streak, and the
Hornets lost their ninth consecutive road game. The Hornets were led
by Walker and forward Nicolas Batum with 25 points each.

over Atlanta at the Bradley Center.
Antetokounmpo had six of his game-high 28 in the extra session while
Carter-Williams finished with 15 and added nine rebounds and seven
assists.
The Bucks' young point guard was a key force on the defensive end,
too. He blocked a pair of shots, including a potential game-winner
at the end of regulation then intercepted an Atlanta pass that set
the stage for Antetokounmpo's 3-pointer with 1:06 left, giving
Milwaukee a 106-99 lead.

helped Miami end a three-game losing streak.
Darrell Arthur led Denver (15-25) with 18 points and Emmanuel Mudiay
scored 16 off the bench.
The Heat were without guard Dwyane Wade, who sat out with two sore
shoulders. Coach Erik Spoelstra said before the game that Wade had a
slight sprain of one shoulder and "a little bit of an impingement
issue that he's had" in the other.
Cavaliers 91, Rockets 77
HOUSTON -- Kyrie Irving and LeBron James combined for 42 points and

Houston at Toyota Center.

6-for-25 shooting from behind the 3-point arc. James (19 points,

Cleveland closed a season-long, six-game road trip 5-1.

shooting. He missed all five of his 3-point attempts and committed
