SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Florida Panthers, who
had not lost at home since Dec. 8, dropped a 4-2 decision to the
Edmonton Oilers on Monday night at the BB&T Center.

Edmonton's Taylor Hall scored two goals, both on assists from Teddy
Purcell. Jordan Eberle and Purcell added goals.
Oilers goalie Cam Talbot, making his first start since signing a
three-year contract extension on Sunday, had 30 saves.
Florida had its franchise-record seven-game home winning streak
broken despite goals from Quinton Howden and Reilly Smith.
Senators 4, Sharks 3 (SO)
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Mika Zibanejad was the only shooter to score in
the shootout as Ottawa beat San Jose at SAP Center. Ottawa goalie
Craig Anderson denied Joe Pavelski, Joonas Donskoi and Logan Couture
in the shootout.

Ottawa right winger Bobby Jones tripped Sharks defenseman Brent
Burns at 3:08 of overtime to give the hosts just their second power
play of the game, but the Sharks failed to score despite putting
four shots on net.
Ottawa lost leading goal-scorer Mike Hoffman in the second period
when the center crashed head-first into the goal post. He was
favoring his right shoulder while skating slowly off the ice and to
the visitors' dressing room.
Avalanche 2, Jets 1
WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Carl Soderberg and Jarome Iginla scored
second-period goals, and Colorado held on for a victory over
Winnipeg.
The Jets made it interesting -- ever so briefly -- when Joel Armia
snapped a shot past Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov to break the
shutout with 41 seconds left in the game.
Varlamov made 36 saves, outdueling Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck (32
saves).
Blues 5, Penguins 2
ST. LOUIS -- Paul Stastny had a goal and two assists in the third
period to lift St. Louis over Pittsburgh.

Stastny also assisted on a goal in the first period to record his
first four-point game in his two years with the Blues.
The win was the fourth in their last five games for the Blues, who
handed the Penguins their first regulation loss in five games.
Sabres 2, Coyotes 1
PHOENIX -- Buffalo rookie Jack Eichel had a goal and an assist and
goaltender Chad Johnson won his second game in three nights in the
Sabres' victory over Arizona at Gila River Arena.
Eichel and Jamie McGinn scored power-play goals in the second period
and Johnson made 26 saves when the Sabres won for the fourth time in
five games.
Coyotes center Antoine Vermette scored his seventh goal of the
season when he drove a shot through Johnson's pads to break up the
shut out at 8:04 of the third period. Vermette's goal was the
Coyotes' first in 1:31:22, since right winger Shane Doan's goal late
in the second period of a 3-2 overtime loss to Detroit on Thursday.
New Jersey shut out the Coyotes 2-0 on Saturday.
