Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger doesn't
anticipating having offseason surgery on his injured shoulder.
Roethlisberger said during a radio segment in Pittsburgh that rest
is what he needs to let the sprained AC joint and torn ligaments
heal.

New Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter added four
assistants to his staff. Nate Kaczor was hired as special teams
coordinator, Mark Duffner as linebackers coach, Jay Hayes as
defensive line coach and Jon Hoke as defensive backs coach.

The Philadelphia Eagles reached an agreement with Jim Schwartz to
become their defensive coordinator.
Schwartz was hired to join the staff of new head coach Doug
Pederson, who replaced the ousted Chip Kelly. Peterson made the
announcement at his introductory news conference in Philadelphia.

The Chargers are still in San Diego, but the team might have taken
another step toward a move to Los Angeles.
The Chargers filed to trademark the names Los Angeles Chargers and
LA Chargers two days after NFL owners approved a relocation for the
Chargers to Los Angeles in a 30-2 vote, the Los Angeles Times
reported. The club has one year to exercise an option to move.

The Denver Broncos placed safety Omar Bolden on injured reserve and
signed cornerback Taurean Nixon to the active roster.
Bolden suffered a right knee injury during the Broncos' 23-17
victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in an AFC divisional
playoff game. He had just returned from a hamstring injury and
earlier in the game returned a punt 42 yards.

The New England Patriots will be without linebacker Jerod Mayo this
weekend for the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos.
Mayo sustained a shoulder injury in last Saturday's win over the
Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the playoffs and was
placed on injured reserve. The IR designation means Mayo also will
not be eligible for the Super Bowl should the Patriots beat the
Broncos on Sunday in Denver.

The Green Bay Packers fired tight ends coach Jerry Fontenot and
running backs coach Sam Gash.
Fontenot came on board in 2006 as a coaching intern and advanced to
assistant offensive line coach (2007-10), running backs coach (2011)
and tight ends coach (2012-15).

Given the opportunity to turn back the clock and reconsider, former
Steelers wide receiver Antwaan Randle El would not play football.
"Right now, I wouldn't be surprised if football isn't around in 20,
25 years," said Randle El, who told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he
experiences great pain going down stairs and has experienced severe
memory issues.

Baltimore Ravens long-snapper Morgan Cox was selected to the AFC Pro
Bowl roster.
Cox was added by AFC coach Andy Reid as a "need" player. He will
