 COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Washington Capitals, on pace for the best season in franchise history, scored four goals on their first nine shots and roared to a never-in-doubt 6-3 victory over the woeful Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Nicklas Backstrom scored two goals, while Alex Ovechkin, Jason Chimera, Marcus Johansson and Andre Burakovsky also scored for the Capitals, who have earned points in 17 of their last 19 games.

Evgeny Kuznetsov added four assists and Matt Niskanen added two assists.

Braden Holtby made 28 saves for his 30th victory of the season.

The Blue Jackets got goals from Boone Jenner, Ryan Murray and rookie Kerby Rychel, who earned the first of his NHL career, while Sergei Bobrovsky, playing his first game since Dec. 8 because of a groin injury, stopped only 22 of 27 shots.

Devils 4, Flames 2

NEWARK, N.J. -- Reid Boucher scored a goal and added an assist as New Jersey beat Calgary at the Prudential Center.

Adam Larsson, Lee Stempniak and Andy Greene scored and Cory Schneider made 26 saves for the Devils, who won their second straight.

Jonas Hiller made 22 saves, while Sean Monahan and Kris Russell scored for the Flames, who lost their second straight.

Rangers 3, Canucks 2 (OT)

NEW YORK -- J.T. Miller scored with 1:06 remaining in overtime to give the New York Rangers a come-from-behind win over Vancouver at Madison Square Garden.

Derek Stepan and Mats Zucarello also scored for the Rangers in support of Henrik Lundqvist, who allowed two goals on 20 shots.

Ryan Miller stopped 46 of 49 shots for the Canucks, who got goals from Alex Burrows and Sven Baertschi.

Maple Leafs 3, Flyers 2

PHILADELPHIA -- Slumping Toronto stunned surging Philadelphia by scoring with 7.5 seconds left in regulation to grab a win at Wells Fargo Center.

Matt Hunwick whipped a slap shot high past Steve Mason to win it as the Maple Leafs, who entered with the NHL's fewest wins, halted a five-game losing streak. Toronto also received goals from Joffrey Lupul and Roman Polak.

The Flyers got goals from Matt Read and Shayne Gostisbehere.

Bruins 4, Canadiens 1

MONTREAL -- David Pastrnak recorded a goal and an assist to lift Boston over Montreal at the Bell Centre.

Tuukka Rask stopped 38 shots for the Bruins, who have now won three straight for the first time since mid-December.

Max Talbot, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand also scored for Boston.

Mark Barberio connected for the Canadiens while Mike Condon made 20 saves.

Lightning 6, Oilers 4

TAMPA, Fla. -- Brian Boyle's late short-handed goal propelled Tampa Bay past Edmonton at Amalie Arena.

Alex Killorn, Nikita Nesterov, Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored the Lightning, who matched a season high in goals.

Zack Kassian, Mark Letestu, Leon Draisaitl and Iiro Pakarinen scored for the Oilers.

Blackhawks 4, Predators 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Patrick Kane continued his Hart Trophy-caliber with a goal and an assist, as Chicago notched its 12th straight win with a win over Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.

Corey Crawford bagged 38 saves for the Blackhawks.

Pekka Rinne managed 21 saves, but dropped his fifth straight start for the Predators, who got a goal from Ryan Ellis.

Artem Anisimov, Richard Panik, and Andrew Desjardins also scored for the Blackhawks.

Kings 3, Stars 2

LOS ANGELES -- Milan Lucic scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, and Los Angeles defeated Dallas.

Lucic's 12th goal of the season occurred at 6:17 of the third, capping Los Angeles' rally from an early deficit. Anze Kopitar assisted on the goal, extending his points streak to five games.

Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick stopped 27 of 29 shots for his 26th win of the season. Goalie Kari Lehtonen recorded 26 saves for Dallas, which has lost eight road games in a row.
