Eighth grade Wolverines take local championship

[January 21, 2016]    LINCOLN - West Lincoln-Broadwell faced their cross-town rival, the Chester-East Lincoln Panthers, for the 8th Grade Logan County Conference Tournament title on Thursday night. The Wolverines (17-2) jumped out to an early 16-10 first quarter lead, and never looked back. WLB outscored CEL 11-4 in the second quarter and came out after halftime to outscore the Panthers 11-6 in the third. In the end, the #1 Seeded Wolverines finished off the Panthers by a final of 52-25.

Kaden Froebe led all scorers with 18 points while handing out 5 assists, in the victory. Kameron Whiteman scored 14, Justin Long 10, Dreyden Poszgai 6 to go along with a team-high 12 rebounds, and Joe Dalpoas scored 4.

Isaac Dewberry scored 8 for CEL in the loss while both Noah Funk and Will Ewald recorded 7 points each.

West Lincoln moves on to play in the Springfield Calvary 1A Regional while Chester East-Lincoln will play in the Mount Pulaski 2A Regional.
