After twice blowing third-period leads for a pair of losses to
Philadelphia this season, Boston coughed up another advantage but
escaped when right winger Brett Connolly deflected a shot into the
net with 1:54 left in regulation for the game-winning goal.
The Bruins (26-17-5) have won five of their last six games since
falling to the Flyers on Jan. 13 and hold one of the two Eastern
Conference wild-card spots with one game left before the All-Star
break.
Boston killed off a Philadelphia power play to seal the win.
The Flyers (20-18-8) have dropped three in a row and four of five
since that victory, slipping to seventh place in the Metropolitan
Division.
Red Wings 4, Islanders 2
NEW YORK -- Justin Abdelkader and Danny DeKeyser scored 71 seconds
apart in the second period, and Detroit went into the All-Star break
with a win over New York at Barclays Center.
Despite the announced attendance of 12,086, there were plenty of
empty seats two days after winter storm Jonas dropped as much as 30
inches of snow on metropolitan New York and forced the postponement
of the Islanders' game Saturday night against the Philadelphia
Flyers.
Brad Richards scored in the first for the Red Wings, who won for the
seventh time in 11 games to break a tie with the idle Tampa Bay
Lightning for second place in the Atlantic Division. Luke Glendening
scored an empty-netter in the final minute.
Blue Jackets 5, Canadiens 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Cam Atkinson scored three goals and Brandon Saad
had two as Columbus took the first game of a back-to-back against
Montreal with a victory in Nationwide Arena.
Saad, a left winger, scored the go-ahead goal at 9:06 of the third
period and added an empty-netter at 18:48. Atkinson, a right winger,
capped the scoring with a goal in the final minute for the hat
trick.
The Blue Jackets and Canadiens meet again Tuesday night in Montreal
in their final game before the NHL All-Star Game.
Rangers 6, Sabres 3
NEW YORK -- One day after a dreadful performance that left their
coach flabbergasted, Derick Brassard had five points and New York
responded by defeating Buffalo at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers put forth one of their worst performances of the season
Sunday afternoon in a 3-0 road loss to the Ottawa Senators but did
just enough to hold off a rested Sabres team that hadn't played
since Friday.
J.T. Miller scored the winner at 6:44 of the third period after
Sabres center Zemgus Girgensons scored twice in 1:13 to pull his
team into a 3-3 tie.
Stars 2, Flames 1
DALLAS -- Dallas center Jason Spezza scored the game-winning goal
and Antti Niemi stopped 23 of 24 shots as the Stars defeated Calgary
at American Airlines Center.
Spezza netted the eventual winner 4:03 into the second period and
1:20 after Stars left winger and captain Jamie Benn broke a
scoreless tie. Spezza scored his 17th goal of the season on a tap-in
at the far post.
Flames center Mikael Backlund attempted to clear the puck from
behind the Calgary goal but Stars defenseman John Klingberg
intercepted his pass. Klingberg spotted Spezza open at the far post
and fed him on a bang-bang play.
Coyotes 2, Wild 1 (SO)
SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- Anthony Duclair scored the only goal in a
shootout as Arizona won its second game in a row, beating
slump-ridden Minnesota.
Louis Domingue, making his 15th start in the last 17 games for
Arizona had 34 saves and kept the Wild winless at home in January.
Minnesota last won a home game on Dec. 28 and heads into the
All-Star break on a 1-6-1 streak.
Minnesota got a third-period goal from Charlie Coyle and was less
than 90 seconds from a win when Coyotes center Anoint Vermette
scored shorthanded to tie the game with 1:13 to play in regulation.
