In
spite of heavily overcast skies, the traditional
Fourth of July activities went off without a hitch
in Lincoln on Monday. The day began with the
old-fashioned Children's Parade from Scully Park to
the Lincoln Park District. At the Park District
prizes were given out for the best patriotic
costumes in some categories. Immediately following
the prizes, children were encouraged to go out on
the front lawn for a time of playing in the water
compliments of the Lincoln Fire Department. In the
evening, crowds gathered back at the Park District
for the annual fireworks display. Lincoln Daily News
will have complete photo coverage of all these
events in the Wednesday edition.
