Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kang Jung-ho is being investigated for
an alleged sexual assault that took place last month in Chicago.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the incident is alleged to have
occurred on June 17, when the Pirates were in town to play the Cubs.
A woman reported she had met Kang through an online dating service,
went to his hotel room and had a drink with Kang. After about 15
minutes, she blacked out and was in and out of consciousness as he
sexually assaulted her, according to Chicago police.

The Kansas City Royals placed right-hander Wade Davis on the
disabled list with a forearm strain, the team announced.
The move was made retroactive to July 1. The injury will knock the
30-year-old Davis out of contention for an American League All-Star
spot. He has 19 saves and a 1.23 ERA this season.
Kansas City recalled right-hander Brooks Pounders from Triple-A
Omaha. Pounders was 4-1 with a 2.80 ERA in 19 appearances (seven
starts) this season.

The Detroit Tigers placed starting left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris
on the disabled list with an oblique injury.
Reliever Buck Farmer was recalled from Triple-A Toledo.
Norris left Monday's start against the Cleveland Indians at the
start of the third inning after re-aggravating a muscle he injured
last season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled left-hander Steven Brault from
Triple-A Indianapolis and he is set to make his major league debut
against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night.
Brault is making the start in place of right-hander Jameson Taillon,
who was placed on the 15-disabled list Monday due to a shoulder
injury. ))
