Obituary
Ruth Marie Stanley, 68, of Lincoln, passed away
July 3, 2016, at her residence.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial gathering
will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Burial
will be at a later date.
Ruth was born April 10, 1948, in Taylorville, the
daughter of Herschel and Virtie (Kidd) Adams. She
married Carl L. Stanley in 1966. He preceded her in
death in 2002.
She was a long time caregiver for the
developmentally disabled. She enjoyed puzzles and
sudoku.
Surviving are her children: Carl Lee Stanley Jr. of
Lincoln, Karen (Christopher) Buxton of Decatur,
Sharon Stanley of Galesburg, Richard Stanley of
Galesburg, Tina Stanley of Lincoln, and Thomas
Stanley of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; 5
great-grandchildren; siblings Robert Adams of LA.,
Donnie Adams of Mt. Auburn, Becky Nation of
Stonington, Lois Adams of Mt. Auburn, Susan Tumiati
of Stonington, Nancy Barringer of Stonington, and
Steve Adams of Niantic. |
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, daughter Bonny Robson, granddaughter Angel
Stanley, sisters Evalee Westenhaver, Juanita
McGeehee, and Judy Westenhaver, and brother George
Adams.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or
Shriner's Hospital for Children.
