Obituary
Doug “Maytag” Clampet, 65, of Chestnut, passed away
at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 11, 2016 at his home.
Doug was born on August 16, 1950, in Pinckneyville,
the son of Richard and A. Genevieve (Presswood)
Clampet Sr. He married Julie McCurry on December 4,
1992, in Mount Pulaski. She survives.
Doug is also survived by his sons Levi Clampet of
Chestnut, and Scott Clampet of Mount Pulaski; his
step-daughters, April (James) Breedwell of New
Holland, Dawn Mason of Lincoln, and Tanya (Frank
Spinner) Mason of Chestnut; his sisters, Brenda
(Willie) Rentmeister of Mount Pulaski and Nancy
(Scott Driskell) Knopp of Pinckneyville; his
brother, Thomas (Judy) Clampet of Southern Illinois,
and his grandchildren, Dustin, Alexis, Damian,
Caleb, and Bradley.
Doug proudly served in the U.S. Army. Doug was a
truck driver for ATA of Illinois for many years. He
was a member of The Mount Pulaski American Legion
Post #447 and the Chestnut Men’s Club. |
A memorial service will be held for Doug at 1:00
p.m. on Saturday July 16, 2016 at his home, Military
rites will be accorded at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Doug’s name to his
family.
Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.
