Church of Christ in Lincoln is sponsoring a
Christian Carnival on Sunday from 2:30 to
4:30 p.m. The activities will be on the
church's parking lot, at the corner of
Eighth and Maple streets.
The
public is invited. All ages are welcome to
join in the games, snacks, songs, stories
and more fun -- and win prizes, too -- all
for free.

THE CHOSEN ONES feature three generations of smooth family harmony,
blending traditional and progressive Southern Gospel with light
contemporary Christian music. Their unique approach to Gospel Music
appeals to a diverse audience.
THE CHOSEN ONES are celebrating over 30 years of Gospel Music,
having begun their ministry in 1974. They have sung throughout the
United States and abroad, performing over 150 personal appearances
annually. They have released over 30 recordings, which have included
4 national radio releases. Their latest recording, “There’s A
Purpose” was released in June, 2014. To learn more about their

It is the desire of THE CHOSEN ONES to present more than just a
concert, but a worship experience. They use the medium of Christian
music to present the Gospel Truth and encourage the church.

For the past
36 years, First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln has been marking the
3rd Wednesday in July as the day they welcome the community into
their fellowship hall for their annual Pulled Pork BBQ Dinner,
proceeds of which come right back to benefit local missions.
The menu again includes a pulled pork sandwich, slaw or applesauce,
chips, a drink and a homemade dessert with ice cream.
Tickets are
available in advance from church members or at the church office.
They may also be purchased at the door.
Carryout dinners are available again this year from the Ottawa
Street door of the church building. The 300 block of Ottawa Street
will be one way headed south and the alley behind the church will be
designated as one way headed east between the hours of 4 and 7 to
better facilitate carryout traffic.
