				 2016 Acreage Certification and 2016 ARC/PLC Enrollment
We would just like to send out a friendly reminder to please
stop by your local FSA office to certify your crops no later
than July 15, 2016! Remember that CRP acres need to be certified
yearly as well, with the same deadline as your field crops.
Before coming into the office, make sure you have gathered your
planting dates and the shares for each farm.

We need to know failed acreage, as well as prevented acreage,
which must be reported no later than 15 days after the final
plating date. Corn final plant date is June 5th; prevented must
be reported by June 20th. Soybeans final plant date is June
20th; prevented must be reported by July 5th.

When certifying your crops, make sure you have signed your 2016
ARC/PLC contracts while you are in the office. The deadline is
August 1, 2016 and no appointment is necessary to get those
				finished up.

                County Committee Election
Farmers and producers are urged to nominate candidates by August
1, 2016 to participate in this year’s county committee
elections. To be eligible to serve on the county committee, a
person must participate in FSA administered programs, be
eligible to vote in the county committee election and reside in
the local administrative area in which the person is a
candidate. This year, nominations and elections will be held in
LAA 1, which includes Prairie Creek, Orvil, Sheridan, West
				Lincoln, Corwin and Broadwell.

You may nominate yourself or others to be part of this unique
committee and to have an influence of federal farm programs at
the local level. Elected county committee members serve a
three-year term and are responsible for making decisions on FSA
disaster, conservation, commodity and price support programs, as
well as other important federal farm program issues. FSA will
mail election ballots to eligible voters beginning November 7th.
Ballots are due back in the Logan County Office by mail or in
person no later than December 5, 2016. All newly elected county
committee members and alternates will take office January 1,
				2017.
