Dustin Johnson and Luke List are
co-leaders at the RBC Canadian Open after the first day of the
tournament at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario.

Eleven-time PGA Tour champion and FedExCup leader Johnson made seven
birdies, an eagle (par-5 18th), one bogey and a double bogey (par-4
14th) in round one to finish with a 6-under 66.

"It's firm and fast," said world No. 2 Johnson, who won the U.S.
Open last month at Oakmont. "It's definitely tough to get the ball
close to the hole. You've really got to land the ball on your
numbers. With it being as windy as it was today, it was tough to do
			that."

Johnson is making his fourth start in the RBC Canadian Open, where
he has had mixed results. He withdrew in 2008, tied for second in
2013 and missed the cut in 2014.

List posted birdies on five of his first nine holes. He added
another at No. 2 en route to a bogey-free 66, matching his
			career-low round on the tour.

"I was very fortunate that the first five holes there wasn't much
wind at all and then it kind of picked up," he said.

List came into this week ranked No. 115 in the FedExCup standings
after earning a pair of top-10 finishes in 22 starts. He is coming
off missed cuts in five of his past seven starts, however.

Jared du Toit, Chesson Hadley, Kelly Kraft and Jon Rahm are tied for
			third at 5-under 67.

Du Toit, an amateur from Kimberley, British Columbia, eagled the
par-4 17th hole, then birdied 18. Hadley made six birdies and one
bogey. Kraft played the six-hole stretch of Nos. 13-18 in 6 under
par, with his only bogey coming at the par-4 fourth hole.

Seventeen players have won the RBC Canadian Open in their debut, and
Rahm is hoping to become the first to perform the feat since Chez
			Reavie in 2008.

Defending champion and world No. 1 Jason Day opened with a 3-under
			69. He is seeking to become the first repeat winner of the RBC
Canadian Open since Jim Furyk (2006-07). Since its 1904 inception,
only 17 players have won the RBC Canadian Open more than once, with
six doing so in back-to-back seasons.
