June 1 (The Sports Xchange) -
High-profile arbitrator Kenneth R. Feinberg has submitted a
friend-of-the-court brief in the litigation backing New England
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension fight against
the NFL over Deflategate.
The AFL-CIO also filed a friend-of-the-court brief on Monday asking
the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reconsider a decision
handed down by a three-judge panel in April that reinstated Brady's
four-game suspension.
The circuit court panel ruled in April that NFL commissioner Roger
Goodell was within the rights of the collective bargaining agreement
to suspend Brady four games after the suspension was first
overturned by U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman last year.

Dallas Cowboys third-round defensive tackle Maliek Collins suffered
a broken foot during OTAs and will be out for 10-12 weeks.
Collins was injured during last week's organized team activities and
the rookie underwent surgery, the team said Wednesday.

Nick Foles is not participating in organized team activities with
the Los Angeles Rams.
Before the Rams relocated to Los Angeles, Foles had already been
relocated on the depth chart in favor of Case Keenum. Then the Rams
traded for the No. 1 pick, drafted Jared Goff and thusly dropped
Foles down another peg on the quarterback totem pole.
His contract could keep him on the roster into training camp.

Defensive end Stephen Bowen announced his retirement after a 10-year
NFL career.
Bowen, 32, spent his first five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys,
followed by four with the Washington Redskins and one year with the
New York Jets.

substances.
