LINCOLN
- Nathan Turner, former city council man and resident of Lincoln,
was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He grew up attending the
fishing derby in Lincoln and cared deeply about passing his love of
fishing and the outdoors on to other children. His family wanted to
support the fishing derby to keep his memory alive and spread his
love of fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Sarah;
his son, Benjamin; his parents Dan & Nancy; his sisters, Janell and
Nanette; and many other loving family members and friends.

On Wednesday, June 1st, a FREE Fishing Clinic will be held at the
Lincoln Park District from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The clinic
explores the fundamentals and safety issues of fishing. Drawings
will be held for free fishing items.
The FREE Fishing Derby is hosted by the Hickory Lane Campground near
Atlanta and will be held Saturday, June 4th from 9 a.m. to Noon. The
derby is open to all children ages four to 15, with parental
consent. Parents are also encouraged to attend and spend quality
time outdoors with their children.
In the past, the pond has been stocked just days before the event.
Prizes will be awarded in several different categories in this
competitive but fun event. The Turner family and the Lincoln City
Police D.A.R.E program will co-sponsor the free derby.
Lunch will be provided for the fishermen, fisherwomen, and their
families. Parental approval is a must and parents are encouraged to
attend.
