2016 at 1254 p.m. at the HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield. |

9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 10th at St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield
Service:
Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church

Obituary
Robert A. "Bob" Krotz, 86, of Spaulding formerly of
Lincoln passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 12:54
p.m. at the HSHS St. John's Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday ,
June 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Springfield with Rev. Steven Janoski
officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45
a.m. at the church on Friday prior to the service.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln
with Military Rites accorded by the Lincoln American
Legion Post # 263.
A Celebration of Bob's Life Luncheon will be held at
the Knights of Columbus Council # 1250 following the
graveside service.
Robert Anthony Krotz was born on November 12, 1929
in Lincoln the son of Anton Edward and Anna
Christina Lorman Krotz. He was first married to
Lanore Ball in 1951 and later married Etta Mae Ward
on April 3, 1991 in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Tony (Robyn) Krotz
of Cary, Jayne Dodson and Gayle (Larry) Beck both of
Springfield, five stepsons and one step daughter,
one sister: Barbara (Howard) Kirk of Lincoln, seven
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother: Karl Krotz. |
Bob graduated from Lincoln Community High School in
1947. He joined the United States Navy and served
both active duty and reserve from 1947 until 1978.
He operated the Parkview Diner and worked at Krotz
and Sons Store in Lincoln.
He was later employed from 1955 until 1995 at the
Amrheins Bakery / Purity Baking Co. as a salesman
and later as route supervisor. . After he retired he
worked for Graue , Inc., Curry Family Pharmacy in
Riverton, Ace Hardware in Springfield and Prairie
Farms.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and
Knights of Columbus Council # 1250 in Lincoln where
he served as Grand Knight and Deputy Grand Knight.
Member of the Pekin Bottle Club, Williamsville
Antique Mall. He was a 58 year member of the Lincoln
American Legion Post # 263.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church
or the Joslin Diabetes Center in Springfield
(Juvenile Diabetes Research).
Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
