[June 13, 2016]  June 12 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Mets manager Terry Collins fell ill prior to Sunday's game in Milwaukee and was transported to a hospital less than 30 minutes prior to first pitch against the Brewers.

Collins, 67, said he didn't feel well. He was examined by the Brewers' team doctor prior to the decision to take him to hospital.

"He's alert, fine," Mets assistant general manager John Ricco told reporters.

"He just wasn't feeling well before the game. So they're going to have some tests run. That's really all I have right now. ... Afterward, he was feeling OK. We're just being cautious here."

Bench coach Dick Scott served as manager for Sunday's game.

The Brewers demoted Opening Day starter Wily Peralta to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday and announced that right-hander Matt Garza will make his season debut on Tuesday.

Peralta has been a major disappointment this season with a 4-7 record and 6.88 ERA in 13 starts. He has allowed a major-league-worst 97 hits.

Garza, 32, has been sidelined with a right lat sprain. He will be activated from the 60-day disabled list prior to Tuesday's game.

Peralta was a 17-game winner in 2014 but struggled to a 5-10 record last season.
