[June 20, 2016]  LINCOLN - Alonzo “Lee” LeeRoy Mills of Lincoln passed away on June 12, 2016 at Symphony of Lincoln, Lincoln.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16th at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln

Service: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home

Obituary

Alonzo “Lee” LeeRoy Mills of Lincoln passed away on June 12, 2016 at Symphony of Lincoln, Lincoln.

Lee was born on February 28, 1955 in Springfield, the son of Lonzo and Eulela (Witaker) Mills. He married Paula Mizeur on June 4, 1982 in Lincoln. After they separated Paula continued to care for him in the nursing home. She survives in Lincoln.

He is also survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Luke) Hanger; his sister, Jennie (Jim) Golden; and his grandson, Harrison Anthony Hanger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one bother, and one sister.

Lee worked for IDOT for thirty years; his latest position was the head of portable scales for The State of Illinois. Lee was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus in Lincoln. In his spare time you could find Lee bass fishing, he especially liked traveling to Arkansas with his friends to go fishing.

Services for Lee will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday June 16, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:00–10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home on Thursday June 16, 2016. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Lee’s name to Carroll Catholic School.
