The Royals previously designated Infante for assignment last
Wednesday. Once he clears waivers, Infante is free to sign with
any team of his choosing.

Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Zach Putnam struggled in the
ninth inning at Boston on Monday and landed on the 15-day
disabled list with ulnar neuritis in his right elbow the
following day.
Putnam, 28, is 1-0 with a 2.30 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 25
relief appearances with the White Sox this season. He was
removed from Monday's game against the Red Sox after walking the
bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

Texas acquired infielder Kyle Kubitza from the Los Angeles
Angels for cash considerations.
Kubitza is hitting .256 at Triple-A Salt Lake this season. He
spent 19 games with the Angels last year, hitting .194. (Editing
