The Seattle Mariners signed right-handed reliever Tom Wilhelmsen to
a major league contract Wednesday.
The team also transferred left-hander Charlie Furbush to the 60-day
disabled list (left shoulder biceps tendinitis) and optioned
right-hander Jonathan Aro to Triple-A Tacoma.

New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, who will play his
second rehab game Wednesday night for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre
told reporters there Tuesday his "knee held up good" and he was
comfortable moving around in the field and the batter's box.

Colorado Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra (sprained ankle) is
expected to have his walking boot removed for good Thursday when the
team returns home.

The New York Mets recalled right-hander Logan Verrett from Triple-A
Las Vegas and optioned infielder Ty Kelly to the same affiliate.
Verrett provides an extra bullpen arm for the Mets.

Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon (wrist) was scheduled to
play his fourth rehab game for Double-A Arkansas on Wednesday.

Five Chicago Cubs remain National League All-Star Game position
leaders in the latest voting announced Thursday, including first
baseman Anthony Rizzo, second baseman Ben Zobrist, third baseman
Kris Bryant, shortstop Addison Russell and outfielder Dexter Fowler.

Los Angeles Angels DH Albert Pujols missed his second consecutive
game with the left hamstring injury he suffered Sunday in Oakland.

The Houston agreed to terms with their 2016 first-round pick, Alamo
Heights High (San Antonio) right-handed pitcher Forrest Whitley. The
team signed him to a $3.148 million bonus, according to reports.

The Toronto Blue Jays traded left-handed pitcher Wade LeBlanc to
Seattle Wednesday for cash or a player to be determined. LeBlanc,
31, who pitched in Japan last year, was 7-2 with a 1.71 ERA in
