THEN AND NOW: Kevin Harvick is the defending winner from last year's race at Las Vegas. ... Last week's winner at Atlanta, Jimmie Johnson, is a four-time winner at Las Vegas, but has not won there since 2010. ... The two Busch brothers, Kurt and Kyle, are Las Vegas natives, but only Kyle has won a Sprint Cup race at his home track (2009). ... This will be the 19th Sprint Cup race held at LVMS. ... The standings remain tight after the first two races of the 36-race season. Kyle Busch leads the points standings by three points over Martin Truex Jr. Kevin Harvick is third (-4), followed by Carl Edwards (-5), Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin (-8), Jimmie Johnson (-8), Kurt Busch (-9), Joey Logano (-14), Austin Dillon (-15) and Arc Almirola (-23).

THEN AND NOW: This will be the 20th Xfinity Series race held at LVMS. ... Austin Dillon, who is a full-time Sprint Cup regular, won this race last year. ... The Sprint Cup regulars have dominated at this track in Xfinity events, with 15 of the 19 races being won by drivers from NASCAR's premier series. The last true Xfinity driver (at the time) to win was Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in 2012 (he moved to Sprint Cup full-time in 2013). ... Kyle Busch won this past Saturday's Xfinity race at Atlanta, barely holding off a late charge by Kyle Larson and Erik Jones. ... Elliott Sadler remains in the lead in the Xfinity point standings after Atlanta. Daniel Suarez is second (-3), followed by Ty Dillon (-5), Brandon Jones (-6), Justin Allgaier (-7), Brendan Gaughan (-10), Darrell Wallace Jr. (-12), Blake Koch (-17), Ryan Reed (-19) and Jeremy Clements (-20).

NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES: Series is off until April 2 at Martinsville Speedway.

THEN AND NOW: 18-year-old John Hunter Nemechek won last Saturday at Atlanta. ... Parker Kligerman is the surprising leader in the Truck series points standings. He leads Daniel Hemric by one point, followed by Nemechek (-3), Timothy Peters (-6), Tyler Young (-8), Ryan Truex (-10), Brandon Brown (-12), Ben Rhodes (-12), Grant Enfinger (-13) and Daytona winner Johnny Sauter in 10th place (-14).

VERIZON INDYCAR SERIES: After a two-day test at Phoenix International Raceway, the series prepares for its season opener, next Sunday, March 13, in St. Petersburg, Florida. ... Scott Dixon is the reigning series champion. ... Juan Pablo Montoya is the defending winner of last year's event at St. Petersburg.

NATIONAL HOT ROD ASSOCIATION MELLO YELLO DRAG RACING SERIES: Series is off until the Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals, March 17-20, at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Fla.

THEN AND NOW: Winners from last Sunday's race in Phoenix were Leah Pritchett (Top Fuel), Tim Wilkerson (Funny Car) and Jason Line (Pro Stock). ... Pritchett won her first career Top Fuel race, defeating Brittany Force in only the second all-female Top Fuel final in NHRA history. The other race was in 1982, when Shirley Muldowney defeated Lucille Lee. ... Doug Kalitta leads the Top Fuel point standings with 171 points, followed by Pomona winner Steve Torrence (163), Brittany Force (133), Clay Millican (131) and Pritchett (129). Defending Top Fuel champ Antron Brown is sixth (110). ... Ron Capps maintains his lead in the Funny Car point standings with 183 points, followed by 16-time series champ John Force (168), Robert Hight (158), defending series champ Del Worsham (154) and Wilkerson (147). ... Line took over the Pro Stock point standings lead (227 points), followed by Greg Anderson (209), Bo Butner (171), Drew Skillman (131) and Chris McGaha (129). Defending series champ Erica Enders continues to struggle with rough starts in the first two races. She is ranked 11th, 163 points behind Line.
