Included in those best recorded times included a new school
records in the women's 50 free and both the men and women's 50
backstroke. In addition, the following swimmers earned All-American
status with a top 8 finish in each of their respective events.
For the women, the 200 free relay team of Aunyx Ashby (Aurora, CO),
Madison Westhoff (Bloomington, IL), Christina Vance (Glen Carbon,
IL), and Madi Ewald (Lincoln, IL) took 2nd place with a time of
1:39.64. Leading off the relay was Ashby, who broke the Lynx school
record with a 24.10 leg. Ashby also took 6th place in the 50
backstroke establishing a new school record and a lifetime best with
a time of 29.84. Ewald finished in 5th place in the 200 free with a
lifetime best time of 1:58.58. Wrapping up the women's events, the
400 medley relay team of Shannon Smith (Goodyear, AZ), Westhoff,
Morgan Glendenning (Lebanon, IN), and Ashby took 5th place with a
time of 4:33.12.
On the men's side, the 200 free relay team of Ian Herzog (Lincoln,
IL), Ty Ament (Maple Park, IL), Ben Abrams (Bloomington, IL), and
Logan McDanel (East Moline, IL) finished in 7th place with a time of
1:31.60. McDanel also took 5th place individually in the 50
backstroke setting a new school record with a time of 24.83.

Earning Honorable Mention All-American status by finishing in the
top 16 included Smith, who took 11th place in the 400 IM with a
lifetime best time of 5:13.73. Westhoff also finished 11th place in
the 100 IM with a lifetime best time of 1:05.87. Glendenning took
13th place in the 100 fly with a time of 1:07.83 and Ament finished
13th place in the 100 fly with a lifetime best time of 54.72.
