[March 09, 2016]    (Reuters) - A man suspected of killing four people in Kansas and a fifth person in neighboring Missouri was arrested early on Wednesday after a day-long manhunt, Missouri State Police said.

Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino - who police had described as dangerous and possibly armed with an AK-47 - was detained in eastern Missouri near Interstate 70, a major east-west highway, authorities said.

The 40-year-old was charged on Tuesday with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shootings of four men at a home in Kansas City, Wyandotte County officials said.

Serrano-Vitorino, a Mexican national according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, is then suspected of fatally shooting a man in eastern Missouri about 170 miles away, according to police.

The suspect's vehicle was found abandoned near the Missouri crime scene, officials said.

The Kansas City Star reported the Kansas victims were shot in a house next door to where Serrano-Vitorino lived and two of them were brothers. Their bodies were found late on Monday.
