							Obituary 
							Gary L. Kindred, 70, of Atlanta, passed away at 1:15 
							p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Advocate 
							BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. 
							 
							Visitation will take place Friday, March 11, 2016, 
							from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley 
							Funeral Home in Atlanta.  
							 
							Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 
							2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home. 
							 
							Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery. Military 
							Rites to be accorded by Atlanta American Legion Post 
							#341. 
							 
							Gary Kindred was born on June 23, 1945 in Lincoln. 
							He was the son of Lowell L. Kindred and Odessa L. 
							Cates. He married Shizuko Tamanaha on June 3, 1967, 
							in Naha, Okinawa. 
							Gary is survived by his wife, Shizuko; daughter, 
							Shannon (Don) Fox; son, Sean (Rhonda) Kindred; four 
							grandchildren: Chelsi, Emma, Alex, and Anna; sister, 
							Gwen Long, of Lincoln; brother, Dale (Margaret) 
							Kindred of Orlando, Fla.; and sister, Mary 
							Swearingen, of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.

							He was preceded in death by his father and mother, 
							one brother, Larry Duane Kindred, and one sister, 
							Phyllis Swearingen. 
							 
							Gary was a member of the Central Illinois Ham Radio 
							Club, American Radio Relay League (Instructor) and 
							the American Legion. He served his community and 
							country as a police officer and E-5 Sergeant in the 
							U.S. Army, where he was awarded the National Defense 
							Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service 
							Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, 2 O/S Service Bars, and 
							Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Gary was an avid 
							St. Louis Cardinals Fan and Stan Musial was his 
							childhood hero. 
							 
							In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 
							Atlanta Rescue Squad or the OPBA - Olympia 
							Progressive Baseball Association.  
							 
							The family thanks Dr. Witoon Weraachakul, Dr. Robert 
							Bruha, Dr. Stephen Kindred, DaVita Medical Care, 
							Fresenius Medical Care and Heritage Health Staff for 
							their compassion and care of Gary. 
							 
							Funeral arrangements are entrusted with
